The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead Council has awarded Cranstoun the contract to deliver and manage the borough’s adult alcohol and drug recovery service.
ILLY Systems will be working closely with Cranstoun – a charity with over 45 years’ experience of delivering specialist alcohol and drug treatment and one of our existing partners – to ensure that the LINKS CarePath is implemented within agreed timelines and budgets, and that all the data and information is successfully transferred. This is essential for service users’ continuity of care as part of the new service introduction.
The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead – located in Berkshire, to the west of London – has almost 150,000 residents. Of these, there are approximately 500 people who are in treatment for their alcohol and drug use.

Through a detailed review, the council identified the following objectives for maintaining services that address the needs of all cohorts who would benefit from treatment or prevention activities:
- Preventing people from needing drug and alcohol services in the first place
- Enabling those who are chaotic users of drugs/alcohol to start to achieve stability
- Enabling those who are stable to work towards recovery
- Enabling those who are being maintained on substitute drugs to achieve full recovery
The new service – called Resilience – will commence on 1 April 2017 and will help to meet these objectives. Resilience is a borough-wide service focused on treatment, recovery and health improvement, and will offer a single, recognisable identity and brand with service users at its heart and recovery as its goal. Resilience will deliver a broad range of interventions, supported by close partnership working, to every service user based on their needs.
