Culture is what we do
when nobody is looking.
– We listen.
– We care about the detail.
– We take responsibility.
– We keep learning.
– We believe in a better world.
We are here to help make real change possible – and we will keep working until it is.
Technology that helps services support people to change their lives.

Behind every
record is
a person.
We build technology, but technology is not the reason ILLY exists.
Behind every record in CarePath is a person.
Behind every report is a practitioner, service manager
or commissioner trying to make a better decision.
That gives our work a purpose — and a responsibility.
Four things we try to practise every day.
properly.
The people using our systems understand their work better
than we ever could. We listen, ask questions and involve
them in shaping what comes next.
properly.
Quality, security and clinical safety are not finishing touches.
They begin with the first design decision and continue throughout
the life of the system.
responsibility.
When something matters, we own it.
We believe in being available, being straightforward
and seeing things through.
learning.
The world our clients work in keeps changing.
Good technology comes from understanding those changes,
remaining curious and never assuming we know everything.
Good engineering
is often invisible.

Software sees data.
We remember the people behind it.
Every part of the system ultimately exists to help someone
make a better decision for another person.
A practitioner trying to make the right decision.
A service trying to understand what is happening.
A commissioner trying to improve outcomes.
And somewhere behind all of that,
a person trying to change their life.
The best ideas don’t come from
a development room alone.

CarePath has been shaped over many years by practitioners,
managers, clinicians, data teams, commissioners and our own team.
Our National User Group, co-design sessions and everyday
conversations help us understand what is changing and where
technology can genuinely help.
Small enough
to care.
Experienced enough to know.
We have worked alongside services supporting some of the most
vulnerable people in our communities for more than two decades.
That history gives us experience.
It does not give us permission to stop learning.
We remain a relatively small team.
The people making decisions are close to the product,
close to our clients and close to the consequences
of those decisions.
Do important work.
Do it properly.
Keep listening.
That’s the culture we’re building.
