Lifeline and ILLY Systems: Working Together in Prisons

“It is vital the service integrates with teams contributing to a wider rehabilitation journey within a prison environment, for example those supporting social behaviour development or relationship management. However, it is equally important that Lifeline also integrates with service providers within a community setting, to ensure a smooth transition and continued support both during and following release.”

Charlotte Talbot, Senior Business Development Manager, www.lifeline.org.uk

Following from our work supporting Lifeline over the past seven years, ILLY are pleased to announce LINKS CarePath is now being used to support the delivery of their substance misuse services in HMP YOI Feltham and Isis.

Please see HERE for a copy of the full case study.

Challenge

  • The staff wanted to reduce their administrative burden in order to increase service capacity by moving to a paperless system, also gaining clear visibility of clients within a single record
  • Staff also wanted to increase both information visibility at a service-level and the ease of reporting to enable efficient service review and management.
  • The service wanted to work more closely with partner agencies in the community to ensure continuation of care

Strategy

  • ILLY developed an analysis workshop package to get a thorough understanding of the system configuration required to support the referral process and client journey pathways within the prisons
  • A comprehensive assessment of the data migration process was carried out to ensure all existing Isis data was accurately migrated into the new LINKS CarePath system
  • ILLY and Lifeline worked in partnership to agree on a suitable project plan in order to meet the required time frames, including a super-user™ led training programme.

Results

  • LINKS CarePath has been successfully implemented and is used as the single case management and reporting system for the substance misuse services in HMP YOI Feltham and Isis
  • By working from a single shared record, the team are able to quickly and efficiently view and update a client’s treatment history, with user-roles defining the appropriate access for each system user
  • All NDTMS data is checked and validated as data is inputted, and NDTMS reporting is available at the click of a button, with 100% compliance of data.
  • Vital service statistics are readily available on the Team Leader Dashboard, enabling a high-level overview to assist service management
  • The system auto-generates alerts prior to client release dates, ensuring a through-the-gate approach when community teams also have LINKS CarePath access.
