NHS Inclusion Bucks: Working with Inclusion’s Service

The county of Buckinghamshire has a population of over 500,000 and is situated to the North West of London. It is estimated that around one in five adults in Buckinghamshire are consuming alcohol at levels that are a risk to their health, so there is a real requirement to tackle substance misuse effectively.

As part of its drive to improve the health and wellbeing of its residents, Buckinghamshire Council have commissioned a new integrated adult service. Through a competitive round of tendering, Inclusion were awarded the mandate to deliver the services, working with local partners Oasis Partnership and Connection Support. The service provides both pharmacological and psychosocial interventions as well as support for families and carers.

Achieving Outcomes

As with all their services, Inclusion has taken a recovery led approach that is focused on achieving positive outcomes for all their service users. Across all their services, Inclusion have achieved:

  • Opiate recovery rates that are 25% above the national average
  • Non-opiate recovery rates of over 42%
  • Alcohol recovery rates of 40%

ILLY have been working closely with Inclusion in Buckinghamshire to deliver a treatment system that is effective, and meets the services’ case management needs. Throughout the transition, ILLY have ensured that client continuity of care is paramount. A transfer of data was completed successfully on 6th October working closely with services, commissioners and regional PHE teams.Tracy Braddock

“Substance misuse is complex and affects people from all areas of our society. Our Service aims to make a real difference to the lives of the people who walk through the door.

We are delighted that ILLY were there to help support the smooth transfer to Inclusion and are really pleased that this was accomplished within the agreed timeline and budget”
